Pukerua Bay's Matariki Celebration is back for 2021!
Nau mai, hoki mai.
Join us for this year's local Matariki Celebration. Once again, we are planning family-friendly activities, yummy kai and the starry night walk through the Kōawa Ngaro Secret Valley. Check out the performances at the hall, as well as local art and light displays around Pukerua Bay (PKB Matariki Arts Trail).
Te Ara Matariki will be open between 4-8pm, approx 20-30 minutes duration.
This year we connect to the wishing star Hiwi-i-te-rangi (Celaeno), of the Matariki cluster, who helps us to recognise our hopes, dreams and aspirations for the coming year.
Please make your own way safely to the Secret Valley Kōawa Ngaro entrance at the north end of Takutai Road. Bring a lantern, head-lamp or torch, wrap up warm and wear sturdy footwear. Children must be supervised at all times.
Gold coin koha entry, rain or shine.
Proudly brought to you by Pukerua Bay Hub with support from Porirua City Council's Creative Communities Scheme and Nikau Foundation.
