Studio Reset is an Otaki local, beekeeper, photographer and encaustic artist. In this exhibition, she pays tribute to her beautiful NZ surroundings of flora and fauna. You also will find some extraordinary artworks, newly completed, as part of her running series about Climate Change, Nature vs Industry.
These fantastical landscape compositions have depth, translucency and environmental meaning.

Her imagery is layered portions of photographs that were taken throughout her life as a photographer, paired with Indian ink, carbon, oils, and pigments, building up the layers between many fine sheets of beeswax (Encaustic Medium).

The process is very much an organic one; supporting sustainability in her art practice by up-cycling, repurposing and paying close attention to the mediums and materials used. Her natural surroundings are a constant inspiration and always reflected into her artwork. In this series of 15 originals so far(most have been sold), reference is made to global warming, deforestation, sustainable farming, dairy action for farming, fossil fuels, greenhouse gases and government incentives to support greener technologies
