The 8th annual Matariki Light Trail turns Maybury Reserve into a magical landscape.
Explore fairylight walkways drawing inspiration from the nine stars of Matariki to celebrate the harvest, give thanks for our kai, remember loved ones and make a special wish.
Children will love the new lit up area and interactive fun stations on Taniwha Street! Dress up warm and come along to this popular Maori new year family celebration.
The finale on Saturday 10th July will include a community concert and a spectacular fireworks display to Maori and Pasifika music at 9:00pm.
Te Oro Music Centre, Ruapotaka Marae and Glen Innes Library are hosting Matariki activities too so check their websites and Facebook pages.
We encourage those living within a kilometre to leave the car at home and walk to the park.
