Gather your chums and join us for Tea Time Talkies at The Roxy! We’re bringing you a relaxed and indulgent Sunday afternoon with The Quiet Man (1952) and a delicious Devonshire Tea.

The Quiet Man, American romantic comedy film, released in 1952, that paid homage to director John Ford’s ancestral Ireland; the film was noted for its lush photography and the memorable fight scene between its leading male characters.

After accidentally killing an opponent in the ring, boxer Sean Thornton (John Wayne) leaves America and returns to his native Ireland, hoping to buy his family's homestead and live in peace. In doing so, he runs afoul of Will Danaher (Victor McLaglen), who long coveted the property. Spitefully, Will objects when his fiery sister, Mary Kate (Maureen O'Hara), begins a romance with Sean and refuses to hand over her dowry. Mary Kate refuses to consummate the marriage until Sean retrieves the money.

The film screening will consist of a 30-minute intermission where a delicious Devonshire Tea awaits (a cup of tea and a traditional homemade scone with cream and jam).

Strictly no dietaries catered for.

Bookings essential.
