Zealandia Twilight Tours

Put on your walking shoes, enjoy a walk through native forest, and feel blissed out amongst nature at Zealandia Ecosanctuary.

Experience the sanctuary as it transforms from daylight to twilight during this special guided experience, offered after closing time. You’ll see our gorgeous native birds returning to the sanctuary to settle into their nests, the changing behaviours of birds as they transition from day to night, and perhaps even hear the first sounds of our nocturnal birds, such as kiwi and ruru as they wake.

Tour highlights: Kākā, Takahē, Tuatara, Tīeke/Saddleback, Pāteke, Hihi/Stitchbird

You will want to bring your camera for this tour (as the light is pretty cool at this time of night), wear your sneakers, and a warm jacket.

Experience the atmosphere and stillness and enjoy a hot cup of kawakawa tea served in the forest. After the tour you'll feel energised and so much more aware of what this special eco-sanctuary is all about.
