Enjoy a guided tour and talk at Lopdell House, Te Uru Gallery and the Treasure House – all recently granted a Category 1 heritage listing.
Martin Jones from Heritage New Zealand will guide you through the historic Lopdell Precinct. Starting from Lopdell House (built as Hotel Titirangi in 1930), you’ll learn about the building's renowned Māori architect William Bloomfield. The Spanish Mission lobby is the starting point to the tour of the building's many special spaces. Take a trip to the rooftop by either the historic lift or the graceful spiral staircase for views of both the Treasure House and Manukau Harbour. Tour the award-winning Te Uru Contemporary Art Gallery and conclude with an illustrated talk, questions, and afternoon tea at the Seminar Room in Lopdell House.
