This exhibition showcases art of the outstanding international and local artists who united to stand against the suffering of the most vulnerable in the war in Ukraine - children.

The event is an initiative from Ian Logan, artist, musician and long-time gallery curator both Wellington and in the UK, and members of the Ukrainian Association of NZ (Wellington Region). A sense of outrage at the suffering inflicted by the Russian invasion on the old, the very young and the helpless was the catalyst behind the exhibition, starting with Ian Logan's original donation of a painting in solidarity with the local Ukrainians which then developed into the idea of a full-scale exhibition involving artists he knew and admired.

The proceeds from the art sale will go to the largest children's hospital in Ukraine – the Ohmadyt Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Appropriately enough the exhibition is being held in the serene and historical Home of Compassion complex in Island Bay. Their beautiful exhibition space, The Ryan Room, will be the main area for showing the range of art work with realistic and abstract paintings, textile based work as well as a variety of sculpture.

The exhibition will run from Sunday October 9th to October 16th , 9am-3pm at the Ryan Room, 2 Rhine Street, Island Bay, Wellington. For those with a taste for good coffee, the Home of Compassion also has their Cloisters Cafe open Tuesday to Friday 9am-3pm.
