Auntie Social's Thirsty Night Music Club

Auntie Social's Thirsty Night Music Club is an early evening show featuring some of Wellington's best songwriters.

The 9 June show features a full set from Rubita, plus a few tunes from host Don Mackay.

‘Rubita’ was the first female to graduate with a Bachelor in Music, majoring in electric guitar in 2015 from Otago University. She released her first E.P in 2016, then went on to win the "Best Song Writer" in the NZ Battle of the Bands (2016) competition. Her debut album "Distinctive Thrill", was released in September 2020. She has recently released her new single "Lethargic Tides".

Newtown songwriter Don Mackay is "too country for the folkies, to folky for the rockers, and to rock for the country crowd".
