The Caroline Boyd Memorial Walk/Run is a local community fun-run in honour of Caroline Boyd, an avid runner and active member of the Wellington community, who was killed by a speeding car in Paekakariki in 2017.
This event raises money for the Caroline Boyd Memorial Fund, administered by the Nikau Foundation, which provides annual grants to youth, women and local community initiatives.
Participants can choose to partake in:
· A 5.5 km walk or run
· A 9 km run
Participants are welcome to bring a dog to accompany them – all dogs need to be on the lead at the start.
All routes start from the Paekākāriki Memorial Hall, go up the beach 3km, then either on to the inland track back to the Queen Elizabeth Park entrance (5.5km), or across the Whareroa bridge continuing up the beach to Raumati South and then returning down the cycle track (9km).
