For the second year in a row Whittakers Musical Museum on Waiheke Island is proud to be in partnership with Chamber Music New Zealand. Darroch/Cowan Duo is the first of two special concerts Whittakers will co-host this year in association with CMNZ.
Musicians Hannah Darroch (flute) and Steve Cowan (guitar) take us on a musical journey through the Americas including Katherine Hoover’s deeply evocative Canyon Echoes alongside selections by tango maestro Astor Piazzolla and fellow Argentinian compatriot, Osvaldo Golijov.
Hannah Darroch has recently returned to NZ to take up the position of Principal Flute with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra having previously been based in Montreal, Canada whilst studying and teaching at McGill University. It was there that the Darroch/Cowan Duo was formed with renowned Canadian guitarist, Steve Cowan. This year they make their touring debut with Chamber Music New Zealand.
