Taihape's own "Rocket Man" returns home with the Elton John Experience, Saturday 5 November.
Originally from Taihape, Michael Stodart is an internationally seasoned musician, and singer/songwriter. Throughout his career has shared the stage with musical giants such as Van Morrison, Ian Dury and Joe Cocker as well as collaborating in the studio with legendary Elton John producer Gus Dudgeon.
After spending 25 years performing, writing and recording in London Michael Stodart returned to New Zealand in 2015.
In 2020 Stodart established “The Elton John Experience”, a spectacular showcase capturing Elton’s extravagance and musical prowess. Backed by a talented, heart-stopping band with David Burch on drums, Alex Powley on bass and Arahi on guitar, Michael Stodart and “The Elton John Experience” has exploded onto the scene having sold-out shows across the country and recently performing at the 2022 NZ Event Awards.
Due to be performing New Year's Eve at the Napier Soundshell and headlining Balloons Over Waikato in March Michael Stodart and “The Elton John Experience” has an exciting summer ahead.
