It’s 1998. Otto is twelve but online he’s thirteen and he’s pretty sure he gets away with it. He lives in an old wooden house with his mum, dad, and sister, a mysterious Icelandic granny, and an ancient malevolent troll that's lurking in the walls...
From internationally acclaimed Trick of the Light Theatre (The Bookbinder – a sell-out of the 2019 Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival) comes a lo-fi wi-fi fable, combining storytelling, projection, and puppetry. As mobile phones become light sources, laptops transform into skyscrapers, and charger cords morph into puppets, Tröll tells a story both mythic and modern, in the vein of Stranger Things. A truly spell-binding theatre experience for adults and children alike – don’t miss it!
