Bring stories, poems etc - flash fiction, short story, haiku, novel excerpts, travel writing, music reviews, performance poetry etc - to share ( your own work or pieces you love) or come as audience. Writing vibrates with life when its read aloud. Catch up with other writers and music lovers in the community.

New venue: The Nix, the modern space on the corner of Nixon and Chapman Sts, and just two minutes' walk from the Karangahape Rd, Ponsonby Rd, Newton Rd and Great North Rd Intersection. Just walk in straight off the street. Look for the yellow OC sign. It's a generous space with alcoves, sofas, kitchen etc. There's free snacks and some drinks there but you're very welcome to BYO. Street parking close by after 6pm is easy to find and free.

Musician guest:
Pleased to invite back specialist Bluesman Neil Finlay. Neil has had a diverse career to date. Picking up the guitar as a teenager, his love for
old time blues has seen him sharing the stage with multiple international blues and country
musicians. He has graced many a jazz bar, blues club and folk festival as a soloist or with one

Accompanying Neil is Nigel Gavin. (Welcome back!) Nigel has been a guitarist and composer for over three decades and has taught both
for two decades. He was a founder of Gitbox Rebellion, NZ's own Guitar Orchestra and a
member of Nairobi Trio and The Jews Brothers. A solo seven-string guitar specialist, he has
also composed for film and television.
