Bring stories, poems etc - flash fiction, short story, haiku, novel excerpts, travel writing, music reviews, performance poetry etc - to share ( your own work or pieces you love) or come as the audience. Writing vibrates with life when it's read aloud. Catch up with other writers and music lovers in the community.
Start time: Arrive from 6 00 onwards to chat and settle in. The open mic spoke word starts at approx 6 30. Our musician set is approx 7 15 to 7 45, and there are regular breaks through the evening for refreshments etc.
Venue: The Nix, the new brick building on the corner of Nixon and Chapman Sts, and just two minutes' walk from the Karangahape Rd, Ponsonby Rd, Newton Rd and Great North Rd Intersection. Just walk in straight off the street. Look for the yellow OC sign. Street parking close by after 6pm is easy to find and free.
