A night celebrating two of the creative outlets for Judi's musical passion that she is involved with, highlighted at the venue that has brought her so much musical joy and energy over the past 10+ years.

Jazzamatazz
Jazzamatazz is a group of jazz lovers who meet fortnightly to rehearse a variety of songs under the dynamic and energetic direction of Mary Ruston.

The choir is made up of professional singers and enthusiastic amateurs and is accompanied by a musical trio.

With a passion for singing jazz, a varied repertoire of jazz standards, Latin, Blues, plus solo performances and fun for your entertainment.

The choir will get the audience tapping their toes and moving to the beat with entertaining performance, expert musicianship, unique sound, an intrinsic sense of fun and enjoyment of the music they share. However don't be surprised to hear some quieter, intimate moments that will have you spellbound.

Muddy Mama's Blues Band
Tinged with a bluesy hue, revelling in the diverse, a bit of the unexpected, sustained by the much loved and familiar, Muddy Mama’s offer a night to enjoy and appreciate. Live & bluesy – seasoned with jazz – this concert is based on musical partnerships, and the sheer love of great song choices.
Judi Smitheram doesn’t merely sing about love and loss; it is truly heart-felt. Her performance is gifted with genuine emotion, where her vocal power and obvious love of performing shine.
Mary Ruston, the dramatic doyenne of the piano bringing tones from the keys that are a dream to listen to, where you can relax, sit back and enjoy because without doubt Mary has those notes mastered.

Lana Law, Lana picked up the baritone sax at 13 at Burnside High School and knew it was the right instrument for her straight away. Lana is the co-founder and Music Director of NZ’s first female big band The All Girl Big Band, and Music Director of CYJO-Christchurch Youth Jazz Orchestra. She is in high demand as a session musician for many different types of bands, CD recordings and shows.
Leroy Edgar, plays bass strings like they were made to be played, swinging between beefy sounds and sonorous cello-like qualities.

Davey Backyard, is one of the other personas of Christchurch Musician David Thorpe - AKA Li'l Chuck The One Man Skiffle Machine, The Harmonica Guy and many more! Davey has been playing in bars since the early 1990’s as well as playing weddings, festivals and functions.

Davey performs fresh interpretations of old classics and the blues harp his specialty.

Drummer Cat Wall adds energy to the numbers and tasteful groove-laden beats where it’s due, a versatile drummer who plays very deep, raw jazz grooves intermixed with subtle innuendo.

You are invited to lose yourself in some wondrous blues and jazz rhythms, the aim is simple: great music, great fun. Join us as the band holds down a smoldering groove behind Judi’s sultry, bluesy voice and passionate stage presence, for this concert designed to showcase talents and the love of song in a sincere spirit of musical expression.
