Katrina Webster is a mixed media artist originally from rural town Dannevirke now residing in Hastings. Her early years involved with art where 3 years of secondary level with school certificate. After a number of years away from painting, Katrina was drawn back into achieving a lifelong goal of becoming an artist.

Her passion for all things New Zealand reflect in her landscapes and New Zealand bird paintings. Early influences in her art career have come from the late great Bob Ross and his love for his homeland Alaska. Katrina has decided to surround herself with creativity and this creativity is a reflection of her imagination and an integral part of her daily artist life. She has found it imperative that she surrounds herself with things that positively impact on her life and for her this is a love of art.

She has also been working with oils for some time but continues to grow in experience with oil painting and particularly in Abstract. Adding extra mediums to her art to bring her abstract art to life, along with her bold and beautiful mark styles. Her favourite saying is to “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”.

Katrina had commenced full time study with The Learning Connexion in 2020 having achieved a Level 4 Certificate in Creativity and Level 5 Diploma in Creativity in 2021 and currently working towards a level 6 Diploma in Creativity 2022. She has shown her work in exhibitions throughout the North Island and online and sold art internationally through the TLC online exhibition in 2021. Also a 2nd placing in the Dannevirke Art Society Annual exhibition 2021 with her Abstract work. Her confidence continues to grow and debuting her art at the Can in Napier in May will exhibit just how much she has grown as an artist in such a short time.
