Naenae Village Market

An Artisan Market with a Māori/Pasifika signature and global flavours. Come down to Hillary Court (tucked between the rebuilding of the Naenae Pool and Naenae Train Station), in Lower Hutt's original 1950's Suburban Utopia — every Saturday from 9am to 1pm — to enjoy some fresh local hot kai, weekly entertainment, locally made arts and crafts, second hand goods and get to know what’s going on in this vibrant, multi-cultural community.

Each week we have different hot food stalls alongside local craft artists and second-hand stalls. Naenae Village Market is a great place to find Hangi, Rewana, Ika Mata (Raw Fish), Seafood Chowder, Somali samosas and curry, and more... So catch a train, bring your friends, for a true Aotearoa grass roots experience.

Bands, buskers, dance groups and performers play alongside activities for the tamariki. Trade School Kitchen is a great place for 'People's Coffee' and a lunch date if the hangi or chowder sell out. Naenae Village Market runs from 9am – 1pm every Saturday. Take an Upper Hutt Train to Naenae and exit the Cambridge Terrace Side.

Naenae is a 5-minute drive from Avalon Park and The Dowse Art Museum and has many good local bush walks and bike tracks.
