Whirinaki Whare Taonga is a community facility opened in September 2003 to meet the cultural and recreational needs of the Upper Hutt community. Whirinaki Whare Taonga plans a vibrant series of internally generated and travelling exhibitions sources locally, from within New Zealand, and from overseas in Golden Homes Gallery. The associated Mitre 10 Mega Create Gallery is devoted to selling locally and nationally sourced, high-quality art and craft products. The Rotary Foyer provides a further dynamic and interactive entertaining and exhibiting space. The complex also includes a cafe, the 212 seat Gillies Group Theatre which available to local and touring performance artists, and The Professionals Recreation Hall, a large hall used extensively by sporting and recreation groups.

Whirinaki Whare Taonga is easy to find - we are situated between the Upper Hutt City Council building and H2O Xtream, at 836 Fergusson Drive.

Parking is plentiful and free.
