OPUS ORCHESTRA

"Human dynamo, actor and comedian Mark Hadlow joins Opus Orchestra to tell two time-honoured stories that will captivate the entire family.

The experience begins with Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale The Emperor and the Nightingale with a delightful musical setting by New Zealand composer, Jenny McLeod.

Audiences will then be treated to the lovable classic The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant (by Jean de Brunhoff), set to music composed by Francis Poulenc that is as charming, witty and engaging as the story itself.

In the words of A. A. Milne (the creator of Winnie-the-Pooh), “If you love elephants, you will love Babar and Celeste. If you have never loved elephants, you will love them now. If you, who are grown-up, have never been fascinated by a picture book before, then this is the one which will fascinate you.”

Be transported to the fairy tale kingdoms that inspire wonder in us all. Suitable for children, parents and grandparents!
