Te Waka Rererangi Experience

Embark on a magical journey with Air New Zealand and learn about Matariki in a brand new mixed reality experience at Canterbury Museum.

Come to the Bird Hall on Level 3 of the Museum, put on a virtual reality headset and board the waka to explore this very special group of stars that herald the start of the Māori new year.

The experience is available on 18 and 19 June between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm. The minimum age for participants is 8 years. The experience is free and there's no need to book but you may need to queue for a short while at our busiest times.
