Toby and the Rest

TOBY & the REST Quartet four pupils from Avondale College...local lads from Glen Eden. The award-winning quartet consists of Max Barrett (Drums) Toby Barrett (Saxophone) Tyler Diprose (Bass) and Lucas Kewell (Piano/keys) they will be playing a variety of jazz pieces ranging from Joseph Kosma and Burt Howard from the 1950s to Joshua Redman in the '90s with several of their own compositions. Last year members of the quartet (between them) won 9 awards in National competitions. Most outstanding quartet, bass player, sax player, piano player and most original composition. This special concert at Bodega will be outside on the lawn (weather permitting) if not then inside. (See restaurant website for details on Covid rules/etc.)

Review: The communication between these young musicians and their connection with the audience make them stand out, filled with fun and skill, this was live music at its best and as people left the concert I heard someone say "that was a $100 ticket concert" - Mike Rosendale (Fringe)
