The Toi Onehunga pop-up gallery season has been extended to 1 May, giving art lovers even more chances to see (and maybe even buy) some amazing art.
More than 40 artworks from some of the many talented artists who call our area home are on display, from paintings and photography through to ceramics and sculpture.
Toi Onehunga was originally due to run from 2-27 March 2022, but after a great reception and support from Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board, the pop-up gallery will now run until 1 May 2022.
What’s new?
A great selection of new artwork has been added, and you can also get hands-on with a new interactive work – writing your name or message onto colourful stickers which you can stick on the Toi Onehunga Whale Tail located in the gallery.
A number of the original artworks that featured in March – which explore the rich heritage of the local area from maunga to sea, and subjects further afield – also remain on display.
This includes a series of portraits by Auckland artist and Toi Onehunga curator Isaac Trebilco featuring ahi kā and members of the #ProtectIhumātao campaign.
So why not make a day of it? Head to Toi Onehunga, and sample everything Onehunga has to offer, from art to suit all tastes through to top quality shopping and cuisine.
