We are delighted to have the wonderful, entertaining Trudy Lile bring her Quartet to perform at the Kerikeri Jazz Club on the 1st Friday of September.

Notorious for her energetic flair, Trudy is a jazz flutist and vocalist based in Auckland and has performed throughout New Zealand at Jazz clubs and Arts Festivals over a number of years. She has also recorded, performed and toured as featured soloist with the The Jazz Divas, Sisters Of Swing, Auckland Jazz Orchestra, The Rodger Fox Big Band, Black Sand Diva, Rodger Fox’s Funkbone Experience, Whirimako Black (2009 Jazz album of the Year), Ishtar, King Kapisi, Many Hands (tour of Korea 2000), and appears on the soundtrack of New Zealand film, ‘Mt Zion’ 2013.

In 2012 Trudy was featured in concert at the invitation of renowned US saxophonists Bennie Maupin (USA) (Herbie Hancock - Headhunters) and Dick Oatts (USA)(Vanguard Jazz Orchestra). She has also toured internationally to Australia, Singapore, The Caribbean, Indonesia, Korea, China and Antarctica.

Trudy graduated from Massy University with MMus in 1999, was vocal and flute tutor at New Zealand School of Music, Massey University, and has been teaching vocalists in Auckland schools.

Alex Ward - Piano
Alex is a very stylist entertaining performer. He has performed all over the world including Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Australia and even Antarctica. Alex has an Honors degree from NZ School of Music, where he then worked and taught for four years.

Nick Taylor – Bass
Having toured extensively around New Zealand and Australia, Nick Taylor has worked on Cruise Ships all around the world, having cruised the Caribbean, Alaska, the Mediterranean and the South Pacific. In 2017 he performed on the 'Blue Note at Sea Smooth Jazz Cruise' and the 'Soultrain Cruise'. Nick also had a six month contract at a five star hotel in Dubai and played at the Royal Mougans Golf Resort in the South of France. More recently having the opportunity of working and recording with founding member George ‘Funky’ Brown from Kool and the Gang.

Cam Sangster - Drums
Cameron, a multifaceted drummer, moves between small ensemble line-ups to big band performances with the ease of a truly gifted musician. He was the regular drummer with the Phil Broadhurst Quintet and has played for the Auckland Jazz Orchestra along with many other line-ups. Cam, as he is known, is a drummer who is heavily in demand and a pleasure to watch and hear perform.
