The Yoga Pantry

Unleash your inner goddess in a safe and inviting feminine space.

We will explore different ways to move and interpret what you hear and feel using traditional blues dance concepts along with your natural intuitive impulses. Learning how to get deeply grounded within your own body and allowing your own expression to emerge.

Don’t worry you won’t be drifting around unsure of what you are meant to be doing and feeling lost. We’ll learn some basic blues dance movements to give you a foundation to work from and then dissect the music to learn how to express what you are feeling with fluidity and structure.

Then we will learn a set routine and using all the skills from previous weeks we will inject our own interpretation and feel into the movement.

Blues music is all about emotion and expressing how you feel, we will use our bodies as our instruments and free up any awkwardness you may feel in moving gracefully and expressively and truly unleash the goddess within.

What you will gain from this course.
- Body confidence
- Trust in your own abilities
- Freedom of expression through movement and dance
- New ways to listen to music

Natasya’s dance bio

For over 8 years Natasya along with her then-partner founded and ran Auckland's largest Vintage dance school Swing Out Central, eventually selling it to concentrate solely on The Yoga Pantry.

During her time as a dance instructor, she attended numerous international events and even taught at a few.

With a background in performing arts, Natasya holds a special place in her heart for dance and movement especially slow graceful expressive forms of dance.

Dance helped her find her place in the world and also taught her so much about music and musicality, listening to music as an instrument in the band and expressing herself through movement. With almost 2 decades of teaching either dance, drama and yoga under her belt, she knows how to get the best out of her students and loves watching them light up and shine the way they were always meant to.

You don't need any natural dance ability to join these classes, Tash sure didn't have any when she took her first modern jazz class at 16 and then her first salsa class at 26, followed by swing dancing a few years later. Over the years she has learned how to listen to the music and find the joy in dance and her own body's abilities.

It is this initial struggle with dance and music that she credits with making her into a really great instructor, she intimately understands the struggle and can help you overcome it :)

Our studio will be dimly lit so you can easily get into your own zone and feel comfortable expressing your inner goddess, the movements we will be exploring are accessible to all abilities, whether you are a kick-ass dancer or a complete novice.

Please note: We will be learning our dance barefoot, no shoes are allowed in the studio.

Can't wait to see you there!
