A world-class Instrumental guitarist and superb Singer Songwriter, a modern-day troubadour in every sense of the word.

With three decades of international touring and 16 albums under his belt Andrew White returns to the South Island to promote his latest albums ‘Beautiful Trouble’ and Guitarra Celtica Volume11 along with material from his extensive back catalogue.

Andrew White is one of those rare artists who can skilfully combine brilliant finger-style guitar work with an inspired compelling story in lyric, weaving together elements of traditional and contemporary Celtic folk, jazz and blues to create beautifully crafted instrumentals and songs that will delight and inspire.

While his soulful edgy vocals have drawn comparison to the likes of Peter Gabriel, Sting and the late John Martyn, he has developed his own unique individual style influenced by the British folk baroqe and progressive rock musicians of the 60’s and 70’s This is Andrew’s first appearance at The Folk Club, however he is no stranger to folk club audiences having performed at several Canterbury Folk Festivals and venues throughout the North and South as well as
having supported Clannad.

Celtic soul folk blues jazz singer songwriter Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell AKA Ma Bell introduces Andrew and opens the stage with a short set.

This is Andrew White’s final South Island Concert performance before returning to Auckland and the international touring circuit.

Andrew has toured, supported and performed with…
The Corrs, Taj Mahal, Clannad, Michelle Shocked, John Martyn, Janis Ian, Cappercaille, Mary Black, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), Eddie Reader, The Indigo Girls, The Strawbs, Mick Avory (The Kinks), Dave Clarke, Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience) Dave Rowberry (The Animals), Brendan Power (Sting, Van Morrison), Seals and Crofts, Juan Martin Tommy Emmanuel, Ottmar Liebert, Antoine Dufour, Andy Mckee, Don Ross, Brian Gore, Peppino D'Agostino, Pierre Bensusan, Tom Paxton, Roy Harper and others.
