This is a free event for the whole whānau to celebrate Conservation Week.

The theme for Conservation Week is "take action for nature"

We will be a range of displays for you to interact with where you can learn more about our native flora and fauna including information on some of our lesser known animals like bats, tuatara, lizards and fish.

There will be an opportunity for you to learn about how you can take action for conservation in your own backyards by planting up your own native seeds, learning how to make ruru (morepork) boxes, building a rat trap and leaning about what to do if you find an injured bird.

The event is supported by Horizons Regional Council, Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery Centre, Department of Conservation, Rangitāne o Manawatū, Palmerston North City Council and with assistance from Menzshed Palmerston North.

This event is part of Conservation Week 2023 - www.conservationweek.org.nz
