Today we’ll gather at art historian and chef Dr. Wendy Joyce's home to learn more about Monet's life, art and food in Giverny. Of course we'll also talk about his garden where he grew all of the vegetables for the household. Wendy owns and runs Savour Cooking School and has her own organic vegetable and flower garden where she grows the food for the cooking school so we'll be wandering outside (weather permitting) to collect yummy ingredients (edible flowers, salad ingredients, herbs) for our meal.
This workshop is limited to 7 participants.
We'll begin with an hour visual presentation. Then you’ll cook two very French dishes from Monet's personal recipe collection: Monet's favourite creamy eggs with mushrooms and an apple galette inspired by Monet's painting by the same title (pictured). We'll also go out to the garden and forage for some organic greens for our salad, and Wendy will teach you a simple, delicious recipe for French salad dressing.
After the cooking, sit down and enjoy dinner together with some fresh sourdough.
