Don Binney: Flight Path Marlborough Book Launch

The Marlborough launch of 'Don Binney: Flight Path' will be taking place at the new Marlborough Library and Art Gallery building named Te Kahu o Waipuna. The book will be launched by the book's Author, Gregory O'Brien and renowned New Zealand artists, Sir Grahame Sydney and Dame Robin White.

The Flight Path exhibition (on until 26 November) honours Binney's connection with Marlborough. It features a number of his paintings in local collections as well as works inspired by the region. For the last decade of his life, Don Binney exhibited at the Picton-based dealer gallery The Diversion. Two months prior to his death in September 2012, he had an exhibition at the Marlborough (formerly Millennium) Art Gallery and gave a well-attended public lecture in Blenheim. The current exhibition coincides with the publication of the major monograph, Don Binney-Flight Path (Auckland University Press) and has been curated for the gallery by the book’s author, Gregory O'Brien.
