Aotearoa New Zealand is a nation of pet lovers – 64% of households own at least one companion animal, with a total pet population of 4.35 million. This is the second highest rate of pet ownership per capita in the world. Pets are more than animals sharing our homes, they are viewed as members of the family and valued companions. Why do we love our fur babies so much?
