Gisborne Canoe and Tramping Club, Kopuawhara Monument

A visit to Kopuawhara monument via Wharerata hills and Paritu Road. We may be able to drive to the railway line down Railway Road then walk to the Kopuawhara Monument - 2km south along the old Wharerata Walkway. We should also be prepared to walk along Railway Road (an extra 6km and a long uphill on the way home). There may be time to walk to where we can view the Kopuawhara Viaduct as well.
