Gather your friends and whānau this Matariki to join in Haha whetū, our Matariki star hunt

Haha whetū will take you on an interactive journey around the Botanic Gardens ki Paekākā where you will find the ten whetū (stars) painted around the gardens. At each star, you will learn about the significance of Puanga and each whetū in the Matariki constellation.

Be sure to download the Matariki Ahi Ka app and scan the sign to collect your star.

A Haha Whetū Star Search map is available at the Founders entrance to the gardens, the Treehouse, and the Cable Car, as well as the Matariki Puanga page on our website wellington.govt.nz/matariki
