Did you know that in the Southern Hemisphere, Halloween is on the 1st of May? Halloween is connected to the seasons in nature, and is the last of the harvest festivals, when summer is ending. It's a time of reflection, harvest, and the time to honour the dead and welcome in the beginnings of the colder seasons.

~Seasonal Sessions~ celebrate the seasons of the year. We will do crafts, and invite the sharing of stories about what this time of year means for us, what is happening in nature, and how our different ancestors celebrated this season.

Celebrate Halloween with us by honouring your ancestors and creating your own family tree. Bring along little printed pictures of your ancestors if you have them, or you can write their names, add little fold out stories, or even draw pictures of them. We will have paper, some example ideas, and art & craft supplies.

Message to let us know if you'll be coming. We'll gather and start at 4pm. We appreciate a koha of $5-10, or Tai Tokerau Timebank timecredits are also welcome.
