The public can see our young Hawke's Bay pianists tutored by leading pianist and YMY adjudicator Justin Bird. A masterclass gives an insight into the creative process that is informative and entertaining.
It's a particularly useful opportunity for families with younger pianists to learn by watching others. Justin Bird will guide the masterclass students to tackle aspects they find challenging, in technique or musicianship.
NOTE THE VENUE IS DIFFERENT FROM YMY 2023. St Paul's has a cosy atmosphere where audiences can observe the masterclass up close. Audience do not need to stay for the whole masterclass but can enter or leave quietly between students' sessions. Parking is available next to the church and in surrounding streets (parking fees apply until 2pm).
