An epic once-in-a-lifetime experience in Waihi Beach.
Start your journey from Waihi Beach Airfield with a 15 min (approx) scenic Adventure Helicopter tour of Waihi Beach, Orokawa Bay & Matakana Island; this includes a beach landing*
Please register at the Surf Shack Eatery. You will then be taken across to meet your pilot and the Jet Ranger Turbine Helicopter you will be flying out on.
After returning to the airfield, you will make your way over to the Surf Shack Eatery, where you will be served one of the best burgers in NZ (Lonely Planet 2019). Enjoy a choice of a handcrafted burger from the finest locally sourced ingredients, including home-ground wagyu organic beef patties. This will be finished with a sweet amuse-bouche dessert, 'burger' inspired by Waihi Beaches' own Chez Moi Swiss Chocolatier. A choice of either a local craft beer, cider, kombucha, or other soft drink will be served with the kai; any extras may be paid for.
We will ask participants to fill in a short questionnaire to assist us in offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions for the event through 'My Climate'. This will include offsetting the emissions from the flights using a specific helicopter GHG calculator. Copies of the carbon offsetting will be emailed to the participants after the event.
Each flight will require a minimum of 3 participants. If the flight capacity is not met, then flight times may require amending in line with this and we'll be in touch.
NB - Vegetarian, Vegan & GF options are readily available; there is no requirement to pre-order.
*The location for the beach landing will be dependent on the tides and a suitable landing spot
