Marlborough District Brass Band present the major works to be performed at the New Zealand National Brass Band Championships in Dunedin the following week, including ‘B’ grade set test piece “Journey into Freedom” by acclaimed brass band composer Eric Ball; The bands own choice test piece is Philip Sparke’s “The Year of the Dragon”, and the beautiful sacred item ‘Only in Sleep’ by Eriks Esenvalds. The concert will also include a selection of solo’s prepared for the championships.
