We would like to invite you for an afternoon of music and dance with one of Australia’s most entertaining festival acts, the Hot Potato Band. The 11 piece brass and percussion ensemble are re-inventive of the traditional New Orleans brass band as a modern day dance machine and visual spectacle for all demographics with a strong sense of pride for their fun-loving, organic, and quirky musical nature.

This show has been inspired by “Kanikani Katoa” events that used to happen in the old Kerikeri Memorial Hall and came out of community engagement works held recently at the Turner Centre, at which a community member remembers being an 8 year old and sprinkling talcum powder on the floor before the dancing started. This is is an event for all the community to bring along your whanau and have an afternoon of dance, music and fun!

To make the show accessible to our community we are trialing a “pay what you can” model, from $5 upwards. Feel free to pay full price for your ticket (Hot Potato Band normally charge around the $35 mark), or just whatever you can. If this is a barrier, please let us know.

We would love to see you at the show with your whanau!
