Pop-up Little Japan

Nelson and Miyazu Sister City Association organises this free event in Nelson Multicultural week. Our guest Clare Williams will present an introduction to Japanese motifs and design in kimono patterns and you will see some of her beautiful kimono collection here.

Clare Williams:
A long-time resident of Japan, she will use kimono to explain the language of Japanese design. In gaining an insight into motifs and patterns, not only will you deepen your appreciation of the history of Japanese design, but also gain some ability yourself to 'read' the design language.
