Shaking up Te Whanganui-a-Tara for one night only, Pōneke trio KITA join forces with the trailblazing Te Tokotoru for an electrifying double-header performance at San Fran, Saturday October 14th.

Melding inspirations of folk, soul, pop and psychedelia - KITA are a musical force to be reckoned with. Led by the captivating Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, with the lush synths of Ed Zuccollo (Zuke) and barking drums of Rick Cranson (Little Bushman), KITA’s dynamic fusion of storytelling, infectious melodies, undeniable energy and unparalleled stage-presence has solidified their position as a must-see live band with a massive sound.

Having recently released their sophomore EP ‘Love Lives Here,’ KITA are embarking on their first headline tour since 2021; closing off the run of shows with this unmissable double-header and a performance at Nelson Arts Festival.

Shaking the foundations with thunderous grooves and te-reo infused rock ‘n’ roll, trailblazing trio Te Tokotoru will join KITA at the helm. Led by the enigmatic Arahi, Te Tokotoru’s fusion of classic and contemporary sounds, infused with a powerful Māori perspective will take audience members on a spell-binding musical journey.

Cultivating decades of musical experience between its members, Te Tokotoru was birthed in early 2023 - bringing together established musician Arahi with the undisputable force of William Devine (Fane Flaws, Tropical Downbeat Orchestra) and the dart master, Iraia Whakamoe (The Nudge, Fly My Pretties) on percussion.

With their debut single ‘Te Hekenga’ set to arrive in early September and a four-date tour of the North Island throughout October, Te Tokotoru are getting ready to make waves - bringing a fresh perspective and sound to Aotearoa’s vibrant musical landscape.
