Meet your everyday heroes
We’re making the most of Summer with free entertainment in the Town Square! Chill out with us as we host a series of events as part of the NorthWest Summer Series. From outdoor movies to heroes in the square, there’s something for the whole family!
Saturday 11 February 10am-2pm
Free event
Bring the family and meet your local Emergency Service heroes! An action-packed day where emergency vehicles are parked up in the square so you can mix and mingle. There will be demonstrations from your local heroes, free face painting and more! A great day out for all the family.
Held in Te Pumanawa Square, meet local heroes from:

- New Zealand Defence Force
- St John
- Fire and Emergency New Zealand
- Royal New Zealand Coastguard
