Natalia & Yuri

We are thrilled to welcome internationally acclaimed violinists Natalia Lomeiko and Yuri Zhislin to Christchurch.

Natalia Lomeiko has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician in prestigious London venues Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Buckingham Palace, the Barbican and the Royal Festival Hall. She has also performed with leading orchestras around the globe including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Lord Yehudi Menuhin.

Described as a "virtuoso with a truly Romantic temperament",violinist and violist, Yuri Zhislin enjoys a career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Zhislin made his recital debut at the New York Carnegie Hall in 2014 and has appeared at the Wigmore Hall and Kings Place in London, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Stadtcasino in Basel among many others. Yuri is a professor of violin and viola at the Royal College of Music in London and is sought after as a performer, a collaborator and also a mentor in masterclasses worldwide.

Pianist Sarah Watkins is a highly regarded performer, an award winning recording artist and a founding member of the acclaimed NZTrio. A graduate of New York’s Juilliard
School, she regularly appears as a freelance player with orchestras nationwide. Sarah is currently on the teaching staff at the University of Auckland and has been an official pianist for the Michael Hill International Violin Competition since its inception in 2001.
