Jack is back! The classic tale is magically brought to life with puppets! Each character is beautifully created by Akiko Miyamoto and Glenn Cousins. This is a delightful play for all ages, especially 3-8 year olds.
“Jack and the Beanstalk is my favourite English fairy tale,” says Akiko. “This was the first story my mother read to me when I was a child in Japan.
Jack is a poor country boy who trades the family cow for a handful of magic beans. When his mother finds out what he did, she throws the beans into the garden and they grow into a massive, towering beanstalk! Jack climbs it and finds a giant's lair. Naughty Jack takes some treasure from the giant's home to bring back to his mother. Maybe not a good idea to steal from a giant!
“When I was a child,” says Akiko, “I wanted to plant a beanstalk too, and climb it, just like Jack!”
