Welcome back to one of the Fringe’s favourite performers! With impeccable timing and a gentle dry wit, Mary Glaisyer is delighted to once again shine a humorous lens on her life. This show has “something old, something new, nothing borrowed, nothing blue,” she says. Come and see why audiences love her shows.
Mary has always loved to entertain but it was only at the age of 75 that she stepped onto the comedy stage. She began her career as a comedian and storyteller at Backroom Comedy in the Nelson’s Liquid Bar in 2019. Since then she has performed in Nelson, Richmond, Takaka and Ruby Bay and, in an exciting opportunity, to Christchurch’s Little Andromeda Theatre in February 2023.
From being on stage for seven minutes to performing a show with musical interludes, Just Mary is a solo show. Nothing is safe from Mary’s wry wit - being old, shopping, wildlife, cooking, married life and more. And if you are Mary's age it is quite safe to bring a young person with you, as the young, to their surprise, find her funny too!
