This Vocal Recital Competition for singers aged 17-28 years is Auckland Clef Music Club’s tribute to the memory of former President, Patron, generous friend and mentor, Ronald Dellow.

This year, seven talented young contestants will perform in this Finals Recital Concert to be judged by music professionals, Emma Roxburgh (soprano) and David Griffiths (baritone & composer).

A Prize of $1,500 plus the Memorial Trophy will go to the Winner, while the Runner-up receives $400.
A further non-monetary "Audience Choice" prize goes to the singer voted most popular by the audience on Concert night.

The Adjudicators will be assessing the singers for their ability to present a rounded recital performance and so factors such as selection of repertoire and the ability to engage with the audience and communicate their music will be judged, alongside technical vocal skill and accuracy.

Competing this year are:

• Faamanu Fonoti-fuimaono
• Emma Mcclean
• Libby-grace Montgomery
• Ridge Ponini
• Miles Timmis
• Taylor Wallbank
• Jessica Webber

This will be a wonderful recital evening of arias, lieder, art song and musical theatre tunes, with the added excitement of a closely fought competition and your opportunity to hear some of the best of our emerging singing talent.
Please come along and give your support to these young singers.

The Concert concludes with a generous supper — all included in the $10 ticket price —followed by comments from the Adjudicators and the Award of Prizes to the successful contestants.

The Ronald Dellow Memorial vocal recital competition finals concert is the highlight of Clef Club’s season of monthly concerts held at the Fickling Centre venue from February through to November —normally on the third Tuesday of the month. Our concerts are designed to support and to provide experience to aspiring performers and to give pleasure to those keen on hearing mainly classical vocal and instrumental music on a regular basis and at reasonable cost.

All newcomers are welcome, either as members, or on a casual basis.
You can join either as an Associate (audience) member, or as a Performing Member with a view to performing in our concerts. New singers and instrumentalists are especially welcome to augment our pool of Performing Members and we’re also keen to attract potential pianists who can provide supporting accompaniment to our singers and instrumentalists in their performances.

Make attendance at this Finals Concert your chance to see what we’re about and, if you’re a performer, perhaps arrange an audition while you’re there.

– Everyone is welcome (but just note that our door sales are cash only:
No eftpos facility available)
