This workshop is for those who have attended previously our beginner session, as this is advanced.
It will teach children how to make a patchwork cushion cover. They will learn the next tricky step-by-step techniques and processes needed in sewing. Participants will be shown how to join several pieces of fabric together in a very neat manner and learn easy tips and tricks to sewing in a zipper. Your child will leave feeling inspired and proud after making their own patchwork cushion cover with colours of their choice.
In this workshop, we will provide everything needed along with funky fabrics to choose from. An easy project for children to get inspired with sewing.
Gracie Mathews is the best tutor to teach your child, she oozes enthusiasm for everything textile. In addition to teaching and travelling New Zealand for a fabric supplier, she has her own business offering a variety of costume and sewing services including hire, manufacture, costume and sewing experience packages and continues to share her personal costume and textile collection through symposiums, events and exhibitions.
Who is this workshop designed for?
This sewing workshop is a level 2 workshop. It is only suitable for children who have previously attended a level 1 ‘Make a Tote Bag’ session.
Children must be aged 8+ years old.
Please do not register children under the age of 8 in this class.
What to bring?
All art-related materials are included in the fee.
Children can bring a water bottle and snacks.
