For Kiwi business owners and marketers using social media for marketing, it's crucial to understand the legal implications surrounding the content you share.
This informative session will address the numerous questions that often arise when it comes to posting content on social media platforms.
Presented by Rachel Triplow, Intellectual Property Law Specialist with over two decades of experience, this workshop is designed to empower business owners and marketers with the knowledge to navigate New Zealand copyright and intellectual property law and avoid the costs and stress of getting it wrong.
The session will cover common questions on what you can and can't post on social media, including:
- Can I just use images from Google or Pinterest in my social media marketing?
- If someone else has shared a meme, can I share it too?
- Can I create my own content using celebrity images? What about GIFs and memes with celebrity images?
- Can I share someone else’s social media post if they have tagged me in it?
- Do I need permission to post photos of people who visit my business/event/market stall?
- Can I use popular music in my social media posts?
- Can I use a brand name that is similar to someone else?
- If I use AI to create images or content, who owns it?
...send in your questions and we'll try and make time for them too! (You can email jodine@socialsmarty.co)
