Sure to Rise: Celebrating Feminist art in Ōtautahi

Join Lydia Baxendell and Dr Barbara Garrie for a lively discussion on Feminist art in Ōtautahi. The talk coincides with the exhibition Sure to Rise: Canterbury Women since 1893, featuring a significant art work by Vivienne Mountfort produced in 1993 to celebrate women’s suffrage.

Lydia Baxendell is Kaitiaki Kohinga Toi, Art Collections Curator at the University of Canterbury’s Macmillan Brown Cultural Heritage Library where she cares for a premier art collection.

Dr Barbara Garrie is Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at the University of Canterbury.
