The Tūranga Bal

'Le Grand Bal' comes to Gisborne in a weekend of dance bringing new life to old dance traditions. Folk Dance New Zealand's annual gathering features Balfolk day workshops for dancers and musicians alike, culminating in a magical night of dancing at the Tūranga Bal. Other dance workshops featured over the weekend include Appalachian Clogging, Waiata-a-ringa, and favourites from the repetoire of international folk dance.
