A bus takes us from Masterton, also picking up at Riversdale by the Store, out to Homewood Storeroom near Riversdale for coffee, then a medium uphill walk with amazing views and a picnic.
A bus takes us from Masterton to Homewood Storeroom near Riversdale for coffee (half an hour), then a medium uphill walk. The airstrip walk offers beautiful views of land and sea from Homewood Farm.
The walk is 5km return on a farm gravel track (2 - 2.5 hours). It is a steady and gradual upward incline, and easy back down. A family-friendly walk. A picnic can be ordered from Homewood that morning or BYO.
Charter Bus from Masterton:
Bus will leave Tranzit at 9:00
Pickup Riversdale Beach at 10:10
Arrive Homewood at 10:30
Coffee
Walk 11:00
Picnic about 12:30
Bus leaves 14:00
Drop at Riversdale at 14:20
Bus back at 15:30
The track consists of a gentle hill track rising 300m to the airstrip at 414m.
Please bring waterbottle and sunscreen and suitable walking shoes.
