Bay of Islands Walking Weekend
Saturday 14th October
Walk 1 - Marsden Cross and The Landing Vineyard

Board the Island Getaway Launch which will take you to Marsden Cross, New Zealand’s first planned European settlement where Māori and Europeans lived side by side. NZ’s very first Christmas Day was celebrated at Marsden Cross in 1814.

The Landing is a special place that sits within 1000 acres of native bush, wetland, bird sanctuary and farmland, and we have been give special access to walk some of their wetland area and historical sites before arriving at “The Boathouse” for a two course lunch with wine tasting of course!

The food at The Landing is spectacular and of the highest quality. The Landing Wines are known for their beautifully crafted tropical fruit and mineral flavours, given depth and complexity by Northland’s long, warm summers and coastal aspect. From vine to bottle, every step of the wine-making process takes place on site, starting in their 23-acre vineyard and finishing at their state-of-the-art winery.

A fantastic opportunity to visit this special place and enjoy the hospitality on offer.

2. The Russell Bowling Club is our Walking Weekend HQ, all walks start from there.

Our guides are all passionate and knowledgeable about the Bay of Islands area and bring something special to the walking experience. Each walk has no more than 20 people. Our HQ is the Russell Bowling Club where people can meet, chat about their day and have something to eat and drink.

Russell is a fantastic base for the weekend with lots of great restaurants, places to stay and for the non-walkers out there. We are very excited about this weekend and the great walking experiences there are here in the Bay of Islands. Time to get your walking boots out of the cupboard and join us in the Bay of Islands.

Visit our website to see all the walks you can do.
