Come and join us for the 17th International Akaroa Music Festival in wonderful Akaroa and the UC city campus in Christchurch. For the 2024 edition, we have created an exciting programme, featuring NZ’s most accomplished musicians as well as fabulous international guest artists.
Pianists Michael Endres and Glenn Riddle will be back this year, amazing violist Lisa Grosman from Melbourne is joining us as well as lute player Maria Wilgos from Poland. They will be joined by cellists Heleen du Plessis and Edith Salzmann. Our programme is divers and should cater for every taste, Maria Wilgos and Wolfgang Kraemer will team up with soprano Lois Johnstone for unforgettable evenings of baroque music, the well know Canterbury Trio with Mark Menzies, Michael Endres and Edith Salzmann will perform in the intimate setting of the Powerhouse, and Bach amazing Goldberg Variations, here is the version for string trio, will finish the festival on the 14th of January.
We’ll bring stellar young talented from NZ and Australia along of course, Vivaldi’s four seasons for cello ensemble, Regina’s and AJ’s recital and much more.
We can’t wait to start the festival and are hoping to have you all as our guests.
